TFAM regulates lymphangiogenesis, interacts with TEK/TIE2 and ITGA5, and binds to the mitochondrial light chain promoter. It is part of the mitochondrial transcription initiation complex formed with TFB2M and POLRMT and is critical for accurate promoter recognition and transcription initiation.
