Biological Activity

Valepotriate has anti-epileptic and anti-cancer activities, it isolated from Valeriana jatamansi Jones. Valepotriate showed significant anti-epileptic activity against MES- and PTZ-induced epilepsy at doses of 5, 10, and 20 mg/kg, and ED50 values for MES- and PTZ-induced epilepsy were 7.84 and 7.19 mg/kg, respectively. Furthermore, valepotriate (10 and 20 mg/kg) can significantly prolong sleeping time and shorten the latency time on the pentobarbital sodium-induced sleeping time test. Furthermore, valepotriate (5, 10, and 20 mg/kg) could significantly up-regulate the expression of GABAA, GAD65, and Bcl-2 and down-regulate the expression of caspase-3, but had no significant effect on the expression of GABAB.

T-2 Toxin

T-2 Toxin (T-2 Mycotoxin) is a toxic trichothecene mycotoxin produced by various Fusarium species in feedstuffs and cereal grains. T-2 Toxin (T-2 Mycotoxin) is an inhibitor of protein synthesis resulting from binding peptidyltransferase, which is an integral part of the 60s ribosomal subunit. T-2 Toxin (T-2 Mycotoxin) inhibits the synthesis of DNA and RNA, interferes with the metabolism of membrane phospholipids, and increases the level of liver lipid peroxides.

Mitoguazone

Mitoguazone is a brain-penetrant and competitive S-adenosyl-methionine decarboxylase (SAMDC) inhibitor that disrupts polyamine biosynthesis. Mitoguazone induces cell apoptosis. Mitoguazone inhibits HIV DNA integration into the cellular DNA in both monocytes and macrophages.

Cholesterol hemisuccinate Tris salt

Cholesteryl Hemisuccinate Tris Salt is a cholesterol analogue with hepatoprotective, anticancer and tumour growth inhibiting properties. Cholesteryl Hemisuccinate Tris Salt inhibits the hepatotoxicity of acetaminophen and prevents AAP-induced apoptosis and necrosis in hepatocytes.

BDE-47

BDE-47 is an apoptosis inducer involving ROS mediated mitochondrial pathway and Nrf2 pathway activation. BDE-47 reduced cell viability and disrupted mitochondrial dynamics by inhibiting mitochondrial fusion and fission simultaneously, leading to MMP decreases, ROS overgeneration, ATP depletion, and cellular disintegration in a dose-dependent manner.

Cytochrome C (from Pig Heart)

Cytochrome C (from Pig Heart) is a multifunctional enzyme involved in cellular life and death decisions.Cytochrome C is critical in mitochondrial electron transport and intrinsic type II apoptosis.
