Biological Activity

Ristocetin is a peptide antibiotic that acts on the bacterial cell wall and inhibits the synthesis of the cell wall. The antimicrobial spectrum of risethibin is similar to that of vancomycin. Ristocetin has significant antibacterial activity against gram-positive bacteria, and has strong activity against hemolytic streptococcus, pneumococcus, Staphylococcus vanidavia, aerogenes and tetanus bacillus.
