Biological Activity

Lincomycin hydrochloride is a substance produced by the growth of a member of the lincolnensis group of Streptomyces lincolnensis. Lincomycin is an antibiotic used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections. It has been structurally modified by thionyl chloride to its more commonly known 7-chloro-7-deoxy derivative, clindamycin.
