Biological Activity

KYP-2047 is a potent and BBB-penetrating prolyl-oligopeptidase (POP) inhibitor, with an Ki value of 0.023 nM. KYP-2047 reduces glioblastoma proliferation through angiogenesis and apoptosis modulation. KYP-2047 clears the α-synuclein aggregates induced by oxidative stress in the neuronal cells. α-synuclein is the main component of Lewy bodies in Parkinson′s disease that cause neuronal cell death and dementia.

KYP-2047 (0-100 μM) decreases U-87, U-138 and A-172 cell viability in a concentration-dependent manner. KYP-2047 (0-100 μM) increases the pro-apoptotic protein Bax, p53 and caspase-3 expression whereas reduces Bcl-2 expression, and reduced significantly TGF-β expression.

KYP-2047 (0-5 mg/kg) significantly reduces tumor mass and neutrophil infiltration.

C6 Ceramide

C6 Ceramide (C6-Cer) is a short-chain, cell-permeable ceramide pathway activator with anticancer activity. C6 Ceramide-mediated miR-29b expression participates in the progression of multiple myeloma through suppressing the proliferation, migration and angiogenesis of endothelial cells by targeting Akt signal pathway.

Deferoxamine

Deferoxamine (Deferoxamine B) is an iron chelator (binds to Fe(III) and many other metal cations), is widely used to reduce iron accumulation and deposition in tissues. Deferoxamine upregulates HIF-1α levels with good antioxidant activity. Deferoxamine also shows anti-proliferative activity, can induce apoptosis and autophagy in cancer cells.
