Biological Activity

Eact is a tMEM16A (ANO1) calcium-activated chloride channel (CaCC) activator (EC50 = 3 μM). Also transient receptor potential vanilloid 1 (TRPV1) channel activator (EC50 = 11.6 μM). Ca2+-independent. Displays no effect on CFTR Cl- or ENaC Na+ conductance. Stimulates submucosal gland secretion in human bronchi.

For example, to modify the dose of Compound A used for a mouse (20 mg/kg) to a dose based on the BSA for a rat, multiply 20 mg/kg by the Km factor for a mouse and then divide by the Km factor for a rat. This calculation results in a rat equivalent dose for Compound A of 10 mg/kg.
