Cornuside is a terpene glycoside isolated from the fruit of Cornus officinalis Sieb. Et Zucc. Cornus officinalis is a traditional Oriental medicine that can be used to study inflammatory diseases and promote blood circulation. Cornuside inhibits mast cell-mediated allergic reactions by down-regulating MAPK and NF-κB signaling pathways. The in vivo and in vitro antiallergic effects of Cornuside suggest that the drug has the potential to be used in inflammatory allergic diseases.

For example, to modify the dose of Compound A used for a mouse (20 mg/kg) to a dose based on the BSA for a rat, multiply 20 mg/kg by the Km factor for a mouse and then divide by the Km factor for a rat. This calculation results in a rat equivalent dose for Compound A of 10 mg/kg.
