Biological Activity

Sanggenon C is a flavanone diels-Alder adduct compound isolated from the root bark of the genus Morus Cathayana. Sanggenon C plays a protective role in cardiac hypertrophy and fibrosis by inhibiting the calcineurin /NFAT2 pathway. Sanggenon C inhibited the expression of inducible nitric oxide synthase, tumor necrosis factor -α -stimulated cell adhesion and vascular cell adhesion molecule-1 in RAW264.7 cells by inhibiting NF-κB activity. Sanggenon C had antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects, and also inhibited pancreatic lipase (PL) with IC50 of 3.00 μM.

Animal A (mg/kg) = Animal B (mg/kg) multiplied by  Animal B Km
Animal A Km

For example, to modify the dose of Compound A used for a mouse (20 mg/kg) to a dose based on the BSA for a rat, multiply 20 mg/kg by the Km factor for a mouse and then divide by the Km factor for a rat. This calculation results in a rat equivalent dose for Compound A of 10 mg/kg.
