Recombinant Human FGF-8b Protein is a heparin-binding growth factor, which plays a core role in prenatal development, postnatal growth and regeneration of various tissues by promoting cell proliferation and other effect. FGF-8 (FGF-8b) belongs to the FGF family. Human and mouse FGF-8A and B are exactly the same, while human and mouse FGF-8E and F are 98% identical. FGF-8 mainly targets breast cancer cells and other cells that express FGF receptors.
Recombinant Human FGF-8b expressed the target gene encoding Gln23-Arg215.
Measured by a cell proliferation assay using 3T3 cells in the presence of 1.0 μg/ml of heparin, the ED50 is < 5.0 ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of > 2.0 × 105 units/mg.
