Perampanel is a selective noncompetitive AMPA-type glutamate receptor antagonist. Perampanel demonstrated anticonvulsant activity in experimental seizure models and antiepileptic activity in clinical trials. Perampanel is currently in regulatory submission for partial-onset seizures associated with epilepsy.
