Merbarone (NSC 336628) is a selective topoisomerase II inhibitor. Merbarone (NSC 336628) blocks topo II-mediated DNA cleavage without stabilizing DNA-topo II-cleavable complexes. Merbarone (NSC 336628) induces apoptosis in CEM cells via caspase 3 dependent mechanism.
