Biological Activity

GW 405833 is a potent and selective CB2 receptor partial agonist. GW 405833 binds with high affinity to both human and rat CB2 receptors and displays ~ 1200-fold selectivity over CB1 (Ki values are 3.92 and 4772 nM for human recombinant CB2 and CB1 receptors respectively). GW 405833 produces potent antihyperalgesic effects in several rodent models of pain.

Animal A (mg/kg) = Animal B (mg/kg) multiplied by  Animal B Km
Animal A Km

For example, to modify the dose of Compound A used for a mouse (20 mg/kg) to a dose based on the BSA for a rat, multiply 20 mg/kg by the Km factor for a mouse and then divide by the Km factor for a rat. This calculation results in a rat equivalent dose for Compound A of 10 mg/kg.
