Apcin is a cdc20 inhibitor; inhibits Cdc20-substrate interaction. Apcin blocks substrate-mediated Cdc20 loading onto the anaphase-promoting complex (APC). Apcin inhibits APC-dependent ubiquitylation. Prolongs mitotic duration in RPE1 cells in combination with proTAME (prodrug of TAME (Cat.No. 4506)) in vitro. Apcin occupes the D-box-binding pocket on the side face of the WD40-domain and can prolong mitosis.
