Tyrphostin A1 is a weaker EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitor, Tyrphostin A1 inhibits CD40L-stimulated IL-12 production in macrophage cultures and antigen-induced generation of Th1 cells. Tyrphostin A1 blocks CD40L-induced translocation of NF-κB to the nucleus, and reduces the activation of IL-12 p40 gene. In vivo therapy with A1 leads to decrease in generation of myelin basic protein (MBP) specific encephalitogenic T cells. In addition, treatment of SJL/J mice with A1 results in attenuation of experimental allergic encephalomyelitis.

Perfluorodecanoic acid
Perfluorodecanoic acid (PFDA) is widely used as surfactants, polymer and plastic additives, wetting agents, corrosion inhibitors, lubricants, foam-fire extinguishants, etc. Perfluorodecanoic acid induces weight loss and increases liver weight and lipid content in mice. Perfluorodecanoic acid also reduces mRNA expression of the genes encoding IL-1β, IL-18, and cellular inhibitor of apoptosis 2 (cIAP2), as well as caspase-1, -3, and -7 in mouse liver. |
