Biological Activity

Liothyronine (3,3',5-Triiodo-L-thyronine; T3) is a potent agonist of both thyroid hormone receptors TRα and Trβ with Kis of 2.3 nM for both. Triiodothyronine (0.01-0.1 μM) results in a decrease in the TRalpha1:TRalpha2 mRNA ratio in HepG2 cells.

This product is soluble but easy to precipitate after freezing in DMSO. NaOH is recommended as a stock solution.
