Biological Activity

Sorbic acid is a naturally occurring compound that originated from the unripe berries of the Rowan Tree. It inhibits various bacteria, including sporeformers, at various stages of their life cycle (germination, outgrowth and cell division).

Animal A (mg/kg) = Animal B (mg/kg) multiplied by  Animal B Km
Animal A Km

For example, to modify the dose of Compound A used for a mouse (20 mg/kg) to a dose based on the BSA for a rat, multiply 20 mg/kg by the Km factor for a mouse and then divide by the Km factor for a rat. This calculation results in a rat equivalent dose for Compound A of 10 mg/kg.

TH-Z145

TH-Z145 is a lipophilic GGPPS inhibitor (GGPPS IC50 = 210 nM). TH-Z145 is a very lipophilic bisphosphonate that lacks the cationic center essential for FPPS inhibition and is thus a specific GGPPS inhibitor (FPPS IC50 >30 mM). TH-Z145 exhibited strong prophylactic effects in a pathogenic influenza model.

TH-Z93

TH-Z93, a lipophilic bisphosphonate, is an FPPS inhibitor (IC50 = 90 nM). TH-Z93 exhibits potent efficacy, increasing both antibody titers and avidity. TH-Z93 exhibited strong prophylactic effects in a pathogenic influenza model.
