Seladelpar (MBX-8025; RWJ-800025) sodium salt is a selective peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor (SPPAR) -δ receptor agonist. After intraperitoneal glucose injection, blood glucose reaches ~32 mM in vehicle-treated versus ~14 mM in Seladelpar-treated foz/foz mice (P<0.05); the area under the blood glucose disappearance curve is correspondingly lower in Seladelpar-treated foz/foz mice (P<0.05). Seladelpar produces a proportionally similar effect on glucose handling in atherogenic dietfed Wt mice (P<0.05).

For example, to modify the dose of Compound A used for a mouse (20 mg/kg) to a dose based on the BSA for a rat, multiply 20 mg/kg by the Km factor for a mouse and then divide by the Km factor for a rat. This calculation results in a rat equivalent dose for Compound A of 10 mg/kg.
