Biological Activity

Protein G is a bacterial cell wall protein expressed at the cell surface of certain group C and group G Streptococcal strains. Protein G was found to be a powerful reagent for the detection of IgG, and consequently the antigen against which these antibodies are directed. It was used in Western blot analyses to detect various antigen-antibody complexes on nitrocellulose membranes. Moreover, protein G is widely used as a ligand coupled to resins in affinity chromatography for antibody purification. It has affinity for both Fab- and Fc-fragments of human IgG by independent and separate binding sites. Binding to the Fc region of immunoglobulins from several species by a non-immune mechanism exhibits great affinity for almost all mammalian immunoglobulin G (IgG) classes, including all human IgG subclasses (IgG1, IgG2, IgG3 and IgG4) and also rabbit, mouse, and goat IgG. Protein G bound all tested monoclonal IgG from mouse IgG1, IgG2a, and IgG3, and rat IgG2a, IgG2b, and IgG2c. In addition, polyclonal IgG from man, cow, rabbit, goat, rat, and mouse bound to protein G, whereas chicken IgG did not. Protein G has also been shown to bind human serum albumin but at a site that is structurally separated from the IgG-binding region.

For example, to modify the dose of Compound A used for a mouse (20 mg/kg) to a dose based on the BSA for a rat, multiply 20 mg/kg by the Km factor for a mouse and then divide by the Km factor for a rat. This calculation results in a rat equivalent dose for Compound A of 10 mg/kg.

Recombinant Human IL-10 (CHO)

Interleukin-10 (IL-10) is usually secreted as a homodimer and, upon binding to its receptor, inhibits the synthesis of a number of cytokines, including IFN-gamma, IL-2, IL-3, TNF and GM-CSF produced by activated macrophages and Th2 cells.

Recombinant Human IL-5 (CHO)

Interleukin-5 (IL-5) is responsible for the activities attributed to eosinophil differentiating factor, B cell growth factor II and T cell-replacing factor (TRF). IL-5 plays an important role in inducing cell-mediated immunity against parasitic infections and certain tumors.

Recombinant Human Tau-F Protein (E.coli)

Tau proteins are proteins which contain four Tau/MAP repeats. They promote microtubule assembly and stability, and might be involved in the establishment and maintenance of neuronal polarity.

Recombinant Human Tau Protein (E. coli, His Tag)

Tau proteins are proteins that stabilize microtubules. Tau protein is a highly soluble microtubule-associated protein (MAP). In humans, these proteins are mostly found in neurons compared to non-neuronal cells. One of tau's main functions is to modulate the stability of axonal microtubules.

Recombinant Rat IL-23 Protein (HEK293, C-His)

IL-23 (IL-23 alpha & IL-12 beta Heterodimer) Protein is a recombinant protein dimer complex containing rat-derived IL-23 alpha & IL-12 beta Heterodimer protein, expressed by HEK293.
