Biological Activity

Species: Mouse
Expression system: E. coli
Purity: SDS-PAGE > 95%
Endotoxin: Protein content < 0.2 EU/μg was determined by gel coagulation
Apparent molecular weight: ~28.7 kDa under SDS-PAGE reduction condition
Storage and stability: Upon receipt, the product remains stable at temperatures below -70°C for up to 6 months. After reconstruction, the product should be stable at 4°C for up to 1 week or at -20°C for up to 3 months. For long-term storage, the addition of a carrier protein (e.g. 0.1% BSA) is recommended. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Bioactivity: ED50 < 50.0 ng/ml, measured in a cell proliferation assay using 3T3 cells. Platelet-derived growth factor-AA (PDGF-AA) is one of five dimers (PDGF-AA, AB, BB, CC, and DD) formed from four different PDGF subunits. In chemical terms, platelet-derived growth factors are dimer glycoproteins consisting of two a (-AA) or two B (-BB) chains or a combination of both (-AB). The dimer isomers PDGF-AA, AB and BB are differentially expressed in different cell types, and their action is mediated by two different receptors, α and β. There are differences in the binding of isomers of different receptors. In general, PDGF isoforms are effective mitogen for connective tissue cells, including dermal fibroblasts, glial cells, arterial smooth muscle cells, and some epithelial and endothelial cells. In addition to its activity as a mitogen, PDGF has chemotactic effects on fibroblasts, smooth muscle cells, neutrophils, and mononuclear cells. PDGF-AA plays an important role in angiogenesis (angiogenesis).

For example, to modify the dose of Compound A used for a mouse (20 mg/kg) to a dose based on the BSA for a rat, multiply 20 mg/kg by the Km factor for a mouse and then divide by the Km factor for a rat. This calculation results in a rat equivalent dose for Compound A of 10 mg/kg.

Recombinant Human Tau Protein (E. coli, His Tag)

Tau proteins are proteins that stabilize microtubules. Tau protein is a highly soluble microtubule-associated protein (MAP). In humans, these proteins are mostly found in neurons compared to non-neuronal cells. One of tau's main functions is to modulate the stability of axonal microtubules.
