Storage and stability: Lyophilized proteins should be stored at < -20°C but can be stored at room temperature for up to 3 weeks. The recombinant protein solution can be stored at 4-7℃ for 2-7 days. The isometric solution of the recombinant sample was stable at < -20°C for 3 months.
Biological activity: HGF is a pleiotropic protein in the S1 peptidase plasminogen subfamily. Mouse HGF is an inactive 728 amino acid (AA) single chain propeptide. It is cleaved by serine proteases after the fourth Kringle domain to form bioactive disulfide linked HGF with 60 kDa α and 30 kDa β chains. HGF binds heparin sulfate proteoglycan and a widely expressed receptor tyrosine kinase, HGF R/ C-Met. HGF regulates epithelial morphology by inducing cell scattering and branching tubulogenesis. It can also alter epithelial morphology by inducing exfoliation of the nectin-1 α outer domain, the adhesive protein component that binds to the junction.

For example, to modify the dose of Compound A used for a mouse (20 mg/kg) to a dose based on the BSA for a rat, multiply 20 mg/kg by the Km factor for a mouse and then divide by the Km factor for a rat. This calculation results in a rat equivalent dose for Compound A of 10 mg/kg.
