Biological Activity

WNT-3A is one of 19 vertebrate members of the airfoilless MMTV integration site (Wnt) family. The Wnt family is a highly conserved cysteine-rich secretory glycoprotein that is important for normal development. Essential for normal embryonic mesoderm development and caudal formation. The developing neural tube requires normal morphogenesis (through similarity). Mediates self-renewal of stem cells at the base of intestinal crypt (in vitro).
