Biological Activity

Recombinant Human IL-13 Protein (HEK293) is an immunomodulatory cytokine, mainly produced by activated Th2 cells, mast cells and NK cells. Interleukin-13 plays an important role in the elimination of gastrointestinal parasites. rhIL-13 has anti-inflammatory effects on monocytes and macrophages, and inhibits the expression of inflammatory cytokines such as IL-1β, TNF-α, IL-6 and IL-8. IL-13 has also been shown to promote B cells Proliferate and induce isoform conversion, thereby increasing the production of IgE. Blocking IL-13 activity can inhibit the pathophysiology of asthma. Human and mouse IL-13 are cross-species responses. Recombinant human IL-13 contains 118 amino acids with a predicted molecular weight of 13.2kd.

Measured by dose-dependent proliferation of TF-1 cells, the ED50 value is ≤1.0ng/ml, corresponding specific activity is ≥1×106 U/mg.

Protein Sequence: DNA sequence encoding human IL-13 (GenBank: U31120.1) expressed with a His tag at the C-terminus.

Endotoxin: <0.1EU/μg (gel method)

Chemical Information
Solubility (25°C) Reconstitute the lyophilized powder in ddH2O or PBS up to 100 μg/ml.
Storage Stored at ≤ -20°C, stable for one year after receipt. Reconstituted protein solution can be stored at 2-8°C for 2-7 days and at -20°C for 3 months.

For example, to modify the dose of Compound A used for a mouse (20 mg/kg) to a dose based on the BSA for a rat, multiply 20 mg/kg by the Km factor for a mouse and then divide by the Km factor for a rat. This calculation results in a rat equivalent dose for Compound A of 10 mg/kg.
