Biological Activity

Interleukin 12 (IL-12) is a heterodimeric cytokine, containing IL-12A (p35) and IL-12B (p40). IL-12 is involved in the differentiation of naive T cells into Th1 cells. It is known as a T cell-stimulating factor, which can stimulate the growth and function of T cells. It stimulates the production of IFN-γ and TNF-α from T cells and NK cells, and reduces IL-4 mediated suppression of IFN-γ. IL-12 plays an important role in the activities of natural killer cells and T lymphocytes. IL-12 also has anti-angiogenic activity, which means it can block the formation of new blood vessels.

Measured by its ability to induce human natural killer lymphoma NK-92 cells to secrete interferon gamma, the ED50 is ≤2ng/mL.

Chemical Information
Solubility (25°C) Reconstitute the lyophilized powder in ddH2O or PBS. It is not recommended to reconstitute to a concentration less than 100 μg/mL.
Storage Stored at ≤ -20°C, stable for one year after receipt. Reconstituted protein solution can be stored at 2-8°C for 2-7 days and at -20°C for 3 months.

For example, to modify the dose of Compound A used for a mouse (20 mg/kg) to a dose based on the BSA for a rat, multiply 20 mg/kg by the Km factor for a mouse and then divide by the Km factor for a rat. This calculation results in a rat equivalent dose for Compound A of 10 mg/kg.

Related Recombinant Proteins Products
Recombinant Human IL-10 (CHO)

Interleukin-10 (IL-10) is usually secreted as a homodimer and, upon binding to its receptor, inhibits the synthesis of a number of cytokines, including IFN-gamma, IL-2, IL-3, TNF and GM-CSF produced by activated macrophages and Th2 cells.

Recombinant Human IL-5 (CHO)

Interleukin-5 (IL-5) is responsible for the activities attributed to eosinophil differentiating factor, B cell growth factor II and T cell-replacing factor (TRF). IL-5 plays an important role in inducing cell-mediated immunity against parasitic infections and certain tumors.

Recombinant Human Tau-F Protein (E.coli)

Tau proteins are proteins which contain four Tau/MAP repeats. They promote microtubule assembly and stability, and might be involved in the establishment and maintenance of neuronal polarity.

Recombinant Human Tau Protein (E. coli, His Tag)

Tau proteins are proteins that stabilize microtubules. Tau protein is a highly soluble microtubule-associated protein (MAP). In humans, these proteins are mostly found in neurons compared to non-neuronal cells. One of tau's main functions is to modulate the stability of axonal microtubules.

Recombinant Rat IL-23 Protein (HEK293, C-His)

IL-23 (IL-23 alpha & IL-12 beta Heterodimer) Protein is a recombinant protein dimer complex containing rat-derived IL-23 alpha & IL-12 beta Heterodimer protein, expressed by HEK293.
