Recombinant Human IFN-ω Protein signals through the IFNAR-1/IFNAR-2 receptor complex, and exert antiviral and antiproliferative activities. Human IFN-ω is produced by virally induced leukocytes and have similar antiviral activities on human cell lines, IFN-ω exhibits about 75% sequence homology with IFN-α, and contains two conserved disulfide bonds that are necessary for full biological activity. In addition, it was reported that IFN-ω could inhibit the growth of human tumors in vivo.
