NSC 146109 is a cell-permeable, genotype-selective antitumor compound that activates p53-dependent transcription. NSC 146109 hydrochloride increased endogenous p53 levels in tumor cells and protected p53 from MDM2-mediated degradation. MTT cell activity assay showed that tumor cells had certain selectivity compared with normal cells. NSC 146109 hydrochloride targets MDMX and can be used for breast cancer research.
