Quality Control & Documentation
Biological Activity

Nimorazole is the only such agent to have shown a significant effect in a randomized controlled trial in head and neck cancer.Comparison with a historical group of patients, treated with the CHART regimen alone and matched for irradiation volume and technique, showed that nimorazole did not increase the severity of acute normal tissue radiation effects.Encouraging tumor responses have been seen in the patients receiving nimorazole with every radiotherapy fraction.Nimorazole significantly improves the effect of radiotherapeutic management of supraglottic and pharynx tumors and can be given without major side-effects.

Animal A (mg/kg) = Animal B (mg/kg) multiplied by  Animal B Km
Animal A Km

For example, to modify the dose of Compound A used for a mouse (20 mg/kg) to a dose based on the BSA for a rat, multiply 20 mg/kg by the Km factor for a mouse and then divide by the Km factor for a rat. This calculation results in a rat equivalent dose for Compound A of 10 mg/kg.
