MDL 11,939 is a orally active 5-HT2A receptor antagonist; displays selectivity for 5-HT2A receptors over 5-HT2C receptors (Ki values are 0.54, 2.5, 81.6 and ~10,000 nM at rabbit 5-HT2A, human 5-HT2A, rabbit 5-HT2C and human 5-HT2C receptors respectively).
