Flotriptan is a serotonin 5HT-1B/ 1D receptor agonist that has been studied for migraine. Frov triptan has a high affinity for 5-HT(1B) and 5-HT(1D) receptors, while its affinity for 5-HT receptors other than 5-HT(1B/1D) is significantly reduced, with pEC50 of 8.2 for 5-HT1B receptors and 6.2 for 5-HT7 receptors.
