Biological Activity

DDN (5,8-Diacetyloxy-2,3-dichloro-1,4-naphthoquinone) is a selective insulin receptor (IR) activator that binds directly to the receptor kinase domain and induces the Akt and ERK phosphorylations. DDN also improves glucose uptake in adipocytes and produces oral hypoglycemic effect in wild-type and diabetic mice models.
