Biological Activity

Berberine is an alkaloid in several plants with various biological functions, including insulin-sensitizing, anti-inflammatory, and anti-oxidant activity. Berberine is also an AMPK activator. Berberine induces reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation and inhibits DNA topoisomerase.
