(R,R)-Secoisolariciresinol diglucoside ((R,R)-SDG) has antioxidant properties, free radical scavenging activity, and DNA-radiation protection. (R,R)-Secoisolariciresinol diglucoside ((R,R)-SDG) inhibits myeloperoxidase (MPO) activity by inhibiting peroxidase and chloride cycles in inflammatory cells.
