O-(2-Bromoethyl)-L-tyrosine hydrochloride is a tyrosine derivative modified with a bromoethyl group, commonly used in scientific research fields such as bioorthogonal reactions, peptide cross-linking and radio-labelling.
Applications
As a non-natural amino acid, it can be incorporated into proteins or peptides for site-specific modification or cross-linking reactions.
It reacts with thiol groups (such as cysteine) to form sulphide bonds, enabling the cross-linking of macrocyclic peptides or proteins.
It can serve as a precursor for the synthesis of radiolabelled tyrosine derivatives (such as [¹⁸F]FET).
