Acepromazine is a phenothiazine antipsychotic compound commonly used as a veterinary drug (horse, dog, and cat). The compound is a similar antipsychotic compound chlorpromazine (#C8138). The drug is thought to block dopamine receptors in the brain. Recently, the compound was found to inhibit the expression of the ABCG2 transporter, whose overexpression in tumors is associated with drug resistance.
