Biological Activity

[8]-Shogaol, an irritant phenolic compound from ginger, has antiplatelet activity (IC50=5 μM) and inhibition of COX-2 (IC50=17.5 μM). [8]-Shogaol induces apoptosis of human leukemia cells.
