EHNA hydrochloride is a selective inhibitor of cGMP-stimulated phosphodiesterase (PDE2) (IC50 = 0.8 - 4 μM). EHNA hydrochloride also a potent inhibitor of adenosine deaminase. EHNA hydrochloride suppresses spontaneous differentiation of human ESCs in feeder-free conditions. EHNA hydrochloride also prevents directed neuronal differentiation.
