| Description: | Urolithin C, a polyphenol intestinal microbial metabolite of ellagic acid, is a glucose-dependent activator of insulin secretion. Urolithin C is an L-type Ca2+ channel opening agent that enhances Ca2+ influx. Urolithin C induces apoptosis and stimulates the formation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) through mitochondria mediated pathway. |
