| Description: | Silver sulfadiazine is a sulfonamide antibiotic that inhibits bacterial growth and prevents bacterial folate uptake and subsequent DNA synthesis. Silver sulfadiazine releases silver that binds to and disrupts the structure of DNA, preventing bacterial DNA replication. |
