Description: | Physostigmine (Eserine) is a reversible acetylcholinesterase (AChE) inhibitor. Physostigmine can crosses the blood-brain barrier and stimulates central cholinergic neurotransmission. Physostigmine can reverse memory deficits in transgenic mice with Alzheimer's disease. Physostigmine is also an antidote for anticholinergic poisoning. |
