Product Information
Description: Mutanolysin is an N-acetylcytoplasmic enzyme that cleaves the β-N-acetylcytoplasmic-(1→4)-N-acetylglucosamine bond of the bacterial cell wall polymer peptidoglycan polysaccharide, the carboxyl-terminal portion of which is associated with the recognition of, and binding to, the unique cell wall polymer.Mutanolysin cleaves Listeria monocytogenes and other Gram-positive bacteria (e.g., Lactobacillus spp. and Lactococcus spp.). In addition, Mutanolysin provides gentle cell lysis of readily degradable biomolecules and RNA from bacterial isolates, and can be used to form spheroplasts for DNA isolation.

Stability and Solubility Advice: Information concerning product stability, particularly in solution, has rarely been reported and in most cases we can only offer a general guide.
We recommend that stock solutions, once prepared, are stored aliquoted in tightly sealed vials and used within 1 month. Avoid repeated freeze and thaw cycles. Storage conditions for some special products should refer to their storage details.
