Description: | Lapachol is a naturally occurring naphthoquinone and orally active, potent inhibitor of dihydroorotic acid dehydrogenase (DHODH).Lapachol has immunosuppressive activity against lymphocytes by inhibiting pyrimidine synthesis through direct blockade of DHODH activity. In addition, Lapachol is a vitamin K antagonist with antitumor and antileishmanial activity that inhibits DNA and RNA synthesis in tumor cells. |
