Product Information
Description: β-Galactosidase acts on the terminal β-D-galactosyl moieties of disaccharides, glycoconjugates, and polysaccharides. It is useful in mediating transglycosylation reactions such as the synthesis of galactooligosaccharides (GOS). β-Galactosidases might be used for glycobiological and biotechnological applications. β-galactosidase cleaves lactose into its monosaccharide components, glucose and galactose. It also catalyses the transglycosylation of glucose into allolactose, the inducer of β-galactosidase, in a feedback loop.

Stability and Solubility Advice: Information concerning product stability, particularly in solution, has rarely been reported and in most cases we can only offer a general guide.
We recommend that stock solutions, once prepared, are stored aliquoted in tightly sealed vials and used within 1 month. Avoid repeated freeze and thaw cycles. Storage conditions for some special products should refer to their storage details.
