| Description: | Beta-carotene (Provitamin A) is A class of carotenoid compounds that are naturally occurring precursors of vitamin A. Beta-carotene is a ROS regulator with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities. β -carotene can be either an antioxidant or a pro-oxidant, depending on its intrinsic properties and the REDOX potential of the biological environment it acts on. β -carotene can induce apoptosis of breast cancer cells and has anti-cancer activity. |
