Description: | Arbutin (β -arbutin) is a natural polyphenol isolated from the bear fruit plant Arctostaphylos uvaursi with antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-tumor properties. It is a competitive inhibitor of tyrosinase in melanocytes, with a Kiapp value of 1.42 mM for monopholase. The value of p-diphenol enzyme Kiapp was 0.9 mM. Arbutin is also used as a bleaching agent. |
