Description: N-methylcytisine (Caulophylline) is a tricyclic quinoline alkaloid with hypoglycemic, pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory activities. N-methylcytisine is a selective ligand of the acetylcholine acetylcholine receptor in the central nervous system and has a high affinity for the acetylcholine acetylcholine receptor in the optic ganglion of squid (Kd: 50 nM).
