Product Information
Description: BAPTA tetrapotassium is a selective chelator for calcium. BAPTA, as calcium indicator, has high selectivity against magnesium and calcium. BAPTA tetrapotassium is widely used as an intracellular buffer for investigating the effects of Ca2+ release from intracellular stores or influx via Ca2+-permeable channels in the plasma membrane. BAPTA tetrapotassium can also inhibit phospholipase C activity independently of their role as Ca2+ chelators.

Stability and Solubility Advice: Information concerning product stability, particularly in solution, has rarely been reported and in most cases we can only offer a general guide.
We recommend that stock solutions, once prepared, are stored aliquoted in tightly sealed vials and used within 1 month. Avoid repeated freeze and thaw cycles. Storage conditions for some special products should refer to their storage details.
