Y 11 is a potent inhibitor of focal adhesion kinase (FAK); prevents FAK autophosphorylation at the Y397 site (IC50 ~ 50 nM in an in vitro kinase assay). Displays selectivity for FAK over a panel of other kinases (concentration used in assay = 1 μM). Decreases cell viability in a number of cancer cell lines; blocks colony formation in SW620 and BT474 cell lines.

For example, to modify the dose of Compound A used for a mouse (20 mg/kg) to a dose based on the BSA for a rat, multiply 20 mg/kg by the Km factor for a mouse and then divide by the Km factor for a rat. This calculation results in a rat equivalent dose for Compound A of 10 mg/kg.
