Biological Activity

Sodium Stibogluconate inhibits 99% of SHP-1, SHP-2 and PTP1B activity at 10, 100, 100 μg/mL, respectively. The augmentation of the opposite effects of GM-CSF and IFN-α on TF-1 cell growth by Stibogluconate sodium indicate its broad activities in the signaling of various cytokines. Stibogluconate sodium induces 61% growth inhibition of Renca tumors in BALB/c mice coincident with an increase (2-fold) in tumor-infiltrating macrophages.

Animal A (mg/kg) = Animal B (mg/kg) multiplied by  Animal B Km
Animal A Km

For example, to modify the dose of Compound A used for a mouse (20 mg/kg) to a dose based on the BSA for a rat, multiply 20 mg/kg by the Km factor for a mouse and then divide by the Km factor for a rat. This calculation results in a rat equivalent dose for Compound A of 10 mg/kg.
