Biological Activity

Species: Human
Purity: SDS-PAGE, > 95%
Endotoxin level: protein < 0.2 EU/μg by gel coagulation
Apparent molecular weight: ~43 kDa, sdS-PAGE under reduction conditions
Storage and stability: After receiving, the product remains stable at -20°C or below for 6 months and at 4°C for 1-2 weeks. For long-term storage, store at -70°C or below. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles

Biological activity: Elevated cathepsin B levels occur in a variety of diseases, causing a variety of pathological changes, including cell death, inflammation, and toxic peptide production. For example, neuroscience studies have shown that cathepsin B plays a role in inducing epilepsy, leading to mass cell death. Epileptic seizure induced rats treated with cathepsin B inhibitors showed improved neural score and learning ability, and reduced neuronal cell death.

Animal A (mg/kg) = Animal B (mg/kg) multiplied by  Animal B Km
Animal A Km

For example, to modify the dose of Compound A used for a mouse (20 mg/kg) to a dose based on the BSA for a rat, multiply 20 mg/kg by the Km factor for a mouse and then divide by the Km factor for a rat. This calculation results in a rat equivalent dose for Compound A of 10 mg/kg.
