Biological Activity

Mavacamten, also known as SAR-439152 and MYK-461, is a first-in-class myosin inhibitor potentially for the treatment of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Mavacamten has IC50 values of 490, 711 nM for bovine cardiac and human cardiac, respectively. Mavacamten (SAR-439152) reduces contractility by decreasing the adenosine triphosphatase activity of the cardiac myosin heavy chain. MYK-461 reduces cardiac contractility, prevents left ventricular hypertrophy, and reverses pathologic remodeling. In cats, it relieves left ventricular outflow tract obstruction.
