D-Glucose 6-Phosphate is a glucose sugar phosphorylated at the hydroxy group on carbon 6. D-Glucose 6-phosphate binds and inhibits the activity of sarcoendoplasmic reticulum calcium ATPase in rat brains resulting in a decrease in the accumulation of calcium in the endoplasmic reticulum.
